Button Messages

Overview

Button messages attach a persistent button to any message sent by slug. When a member clicks it, slug sends them an ephemeral embed response — visible only to them. Multiple buttons can coexist on the same message alongside button roles. Each button gets a unique code that you use to remove it later.

Buttons can only be added to messages sent by slug.

Add a button message

;buttonmessage add (message link) (label) [style] (embed code)

;buttonmessage add https://discord.com/channels/.../... Info primary {embed}$v{description: Hello!}

Parameter	Required	Description
`message link`	Yes	Link to a slug message
`label`	Yes	Button label text
`style`	No	Button color — see styles below
`embed code`	Yes	Embed code starting with `{embed}`

Button styles

Style	Color
`primary` / `blue`	Blue (default)
`secondary` / `gray` / `grey`	Grey
`success` / `green`	Green
`danger` / `red`	Red

Embed code format

The embed code must start with {embed} and uses the same embed builder syntax as welcome messages and other embeds in slug.

Remove a button message

;buttonmessage remove (code)

Use the code returned when the button was added.

List button messages

;buttonmessage list

Shows all button messages in the server with their codes, labels, and styles.
